March 1, 2019 – On December 2018, the House Oversight and Government Reform (OGR) Committee released its Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA) scorecard. Recently, MeriTalk, a public-private partnership that reports on outcomes of government information technology (IT), recognized seven agencies for their progress in IT modernization. The FITARA Awards recognized various agencies which have made gains in key categories, demonstrated significant improvements from previous scorecards, and have had the best overall performance among the 24 Chief Financial Officers (CFO) Act agencies.

Winners were selected using objective data from the Scorecard released by the House Oversight and Reform Committee and the Government Accountability Office. In addition to the Awards, MeriTalk also released the FITARA Dashboard, which further illustrated how award winners excelled in their IT modernization efforts. The Department of Education (ED)  was awarded and showcased as the top of the class receiving a B+ rating, the highest marks on the most recent scorecard.

In March 2018, Garud Technology Services Inc. (GTS) began providing IT Governance and Information Technology Investment Management (ITIM) support, as announced here. Recently, ED’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) recognized the Investment Acquisition Management Team (IAMT) for ED’s recent “Best Overall” FITARA Award.  GTS’s ITIM support Program Manager, Mr. Nana Agyemeng, was identified as a critical contributor to this most significant agency accomplishment. Nana embodies our values and GTS is very proud of his individual and our ITIM Support Team’s accomplishments.
